Did you know that non-military groups were given access to the accurate GPS satellites in 2000? GPS is short for “Global Positioning System”. GPS devices work by contacting 3 or more of the GPS. The distance between each of these satellites and the device is a little different. The device uses these differences to determine the device’s location on Earth. GPS is used in navigation, astronomy, cell phone technology, geocaching, self-driving cars or self-navigating robots, and much more!

We hope that you have a precise day at school. Remember to think kind thoughts, use kind words, and do kind things. We Love You.

Bonus Facts:
Currently there are 32 working GPS satellites in orbit around the Earth. The group of satellites is called a ‘constellation’.
