Did you know that Brigham Young Academy was started in 1875? The name was changed to “Brigham Young University” in 1903. The giant “Y” on the mountain side you love was constructed in 1906. Students formed a line from the bottom of the mountain to where the Y was planned and passed the rocks and other materials needed to build the Y from one student to another. The “Y” is 380 feet tall and 130 feet wide. The school mascot is a cougar named Cosmo and the school colors are blue, tan, and white. One of the school mottos is: “Enter to learn, go forth to serve”.
We hope that you have a wonderful day filled with learning. Remember to think kind thoughts, use kind words, and do kind things. We Love You.
