Did you know that today, in 1983, the Space Shuttle ‘Challenger’ started its second mission, STS-7?  The mission lasted a little more than 6 days; during that time the shuttle orbited the earth about 97 times and travelled more than 2,500,000 miles! With 5 crew members, this mission had the largest crew ever to fly in one spacecraft at the time.  One of those crew members was Sally Ride, a physicist and the first American woman to travel to space, making Sally Ride America’s first female astronaut.

We hope that you have a stellar day at school.  Remember to think kind thoughts, use kind words, and do kind things  We Love You.
