Did you know that Sergei Prokofiev was born in 1891?  Sergei Prokofiev was a Russian music composer.  He wrote operas, symphonies, ballets, concertos, and sonatas.  One of his most popular works is Peter and Wolf.  Prokofiev was asked to write a symphony that would help young children learn and appreciate music.  It took Prokofiev only four days to write the words and music for Peter and the Wolf.  The story is about a boy who tricks and catches a wolf that is trying to eat the boy’s animal friends.  Each of the characters in the story is represented by a certain instrument in the orchestra, which helps children imagine the story as they listen to the music.

We hope that you have a fantastic day at school.  Remember to think kind thoughts, use kind words, and do kind things.  We Love You.
