Did you know that Leonard Nimoy was born today in 1931?  He was an actor best known for his role as the coolly logical and intelligent Mr. Spock from Star Trek.  He helped to create the well-known Vulcan salute, the greeting “Love Long and Prosper”, and the idea of the Vulcan neck pinch.   Before and after his role as Mr. Spock Leonard Nimoy also appeared in many other TV shows such as Mission Impossible, Perry Mason,  Dragnet, Bonanza, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and Outer Limits.  In addition to being an actor, Leonard Nimoy was also a film and stage director, voice actor, photographer, author, and songwriter.
