Did you know that goose bumps are a reflex? It is something that your body does without you having to think about it, like breathing. You get goose bumps when you get cold, or when you feel scared or surprised. When you get cold or scared, your brain tells your muscles to tense up, which causes the little hairs in your skin to stick up and makes your skin bumpy. Other mammals have this reaction too. Porcupine quills or the fur on a dog or cat will stick up when they sense danger or feel afraid.
We hope that you have a delightful day at school. Remember to be kind. We love you.
